REAL WORLD LEARNING
The Stella’s Child Community Action Project (CAP) programme encourages Indonesian youth from disadvantaged backgrounds to see beyond surface causes and understand the world better. Supported by Irish Aid through the In-Country Micro Project Scheme participants develop their potential and develop into change-makers concerned with local social, economic and environmental challenges. The projects allow them to work on real-life issues under the guidance of skilled volunteer mentors and prepare them to enter the world of work.
The Lemukih CAP has taught me how to become a voice for the community and how to preserve culture and at the same time show a path towards economic empowerment. Above all, I’ve learned that making a difference comes from the heart.
