Mobilising Local Actions Towards the SDGs

LOCALISE SDGs, an EU-funded project implemented by United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) and the Association of Indonesia Municipalities (APEKSI), has accelerated the integration of the SDGs in local development planning across nearly all of Indonesia. Launched in 2018, the project has contributed to incorporating the SDGs in targets set by local government development plans, as mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs. APEKSI, a city government association which covers 98 Indonesian cities, has played an instrumental role in the process and has benefited through increased engagement with its members regarding the SDGs, especially regarding its role as a knowledge hub that can mobilise local action.

We are pleased to see civil society, researchers, philanthropists and the private sector collectively become more involved in advancing the SDGs and integrating them in government decision making processes.
